This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am requesting sheet music and accompaniment CD's for my chorus to learn sight-reading skills. The problem with sight-reading is that you constantly need new music in order to keep those skills going, but once you have read something, it's no longer sight-singing, it just becomes practice.
This music will help keep my students engaged and singing.
They love to sing, and for some of them, it's what keeps them connected to school. Having engaged students means less behavior problems. I love the time I spend with my chorus kids because we have a great time together.
