Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the hardest working students around. They are at school for 7 am rehearsal every day, as well as staying for after school practice. They work exceptionally hard because they love music so much, and for many of them it is the best part of their day.

Our school is a 100% Title 1 school.

This means that every student in our school receives free/reduced lunch. This can make fundraising a challenge. We don't ask students for a yearly fee to be in the music department, we ask that they participate in fundraisers but we do not expect a yearly fee from them.

My Project

This percussion cabinet will be a great addition to our music department. We need this cabinet to help our fantastic percussion section get organized and have more success. We would like to be able to feature our percussion section more, but need to be able to store the equipment we need and have it readily available.

The Monroe Music Department relies on fundraising to acquire the equipment it needs.

This cabinet will be a great for us to take better care of our instruments as well as a way to teach students about the importance of organization and caring for the instruments.
