This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

¡Bienvenidos! I am a music teacher who services a low-income community of really friendly and appreciative families and students in the southwest area of Chicago. Over 99% of the families in our community are low-income households.

Music is the favorite class for many of our students and as a music teacher, I strongly believe music is fun, engaging, motivating and also helps encourage leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, and discipline which are all very important skills we all take on in life.

I want to give the students of our school the best music education experience they can receive under my time with them and I sincerely appreciate your help for our students and families.

My Project

All of the resources inside the music room are shared with all students enrolled in our school, and we always need more resources due to the amount of wear and tear with daily use. Having the necessary items for each child is extremely vital to their success in the class. Each child needs his or her own study binder for each instrument in the class, so that each student can have the appropriate level of work at their disposal.

The binders, markers, sheet protectors and other items will assist me greatly in enhancing the music education experience the students receive when they come into my room, I know they have all of the tools they need to be succesful.

Students will use the binders with sheet music in them, to learn, practice and prepare for musical performances for the community, which experiences last a lifetime. Each binder will be organized for a specific instrument msuic and for the level of play for each child. Thank you so much for your consideration.
