Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my children have lost so much due to Hurricane Sandy. They deserve real instruments to create beautiful music on and forget their troubles.

My students are in grades k-3 and are capable of tremendous accomplishments.

They are very thirsty for new material and always show enthusiasm for their music lessons. However, we have been relocated to another school and it has been very hard on all of us. Musical supplies are limited and all of our instruments are in our damaged building.

My Project

With these instruments my children will learn to become musically literate, express themselves emotionally, and build up their self esteem as they create their own pieces of music. The music will slowly heal their worried minds and hearts in the after effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Everyone knows how good you feel after hearing your favorite song or seeing a piece of art.

It is the evidence that all can be good again. People can create beautiful things Music can inspire and heal. My children need to feel normal and healthy again. Getting back to their musical routine will help a great deal.
