Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Visual and auditory aids can do a lot to enhance a lesson. Unfortunately, our music program only has resources like this geared toward Kindergarten-4th grade students. Our 5th-8th grade students need enrichment as well.

The students at my school are incredible K-8th Grade children who love music and are curious to learn more about it.

They live in an urban community in New Jersey and our school is considered to be at the high poverty level. Our student body is 80% Hispanic and 20% African-American.

My Project

Each book I selected for my upper elementary and middle level students was chosen because students have demonstrated a need to learn more about a specific topic. I believe that these materials will enable my 5th-8th grade students to a develop a deeper understanding of subjects that they are naturally interested in, including dance, hiphop, and rap.

I believe these donations will make a difference because I already know that my 5th-8th grade students are excited to learn more about dance, hiphop, and rap.

I know that these books will aid children who are very interested in learning more about music within and outside of their culture. This project will impact hundreds of kids who deserve to be rewarded for their eagerness to learn.
