Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work as a music teacher in a highly underprivileged area of New York City. My children are eager learners and so excited for music this year. I have a lot of instruments I bought with my own money for the older kids. The younger ones in Pre-K, K, and 1st need some centers too.

Music is a critical component in learning, and studies show that it affects math, language, reading, and science positively.

I am trying to get some technological tools in the classroom to help the kids have a great time in music class. Imagine the kids singing songs through a karaoke machine while the rest dance, or them listening excitedly to stories with music using Tonies. And imagine the excitement when they get to jump on a piano mat to create music, they even get exercise this way!

I love to imagine their excitement if I get this equipment for them. They would love it so dearly.
