My students need a boombox/ipod dock for the many different occasions like show rehearsal, and dance classes, that require music. Also we need to update our mystery books.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students LOVE to read. They are voracious readers. That enthusiasm is seen in the state of many of our books. Our books are read so often that they are often held together with tape and hope. Sometimes we need to play a CD and we can't, our CD player only plays AM radio. Not useful at all.

My students are active learners and very interested in a wide variety of subjects, books, music.

In general they want to learn as much as they can about as much as they can. These children come from an environment of caring and concerned parents and teachers who work hard and want the best for their students.

My Project

By adding music to the curriculum I will be able to enhance the children's learning. I strive to instill a love of learning in my students. I am sure that having the ability to add music to their day at different times will enhance that love. Imagine listen to African drums while studying Nigeria or hearing a gondolier sing while studying Venice. Or simply listening to classical music while we work. The books in our classroom are read and re-read and dearly loved. Sadly, they take a beating. The mystery books in particular are in poor shape.

Being able to have music in the classroom at different times during the year is so important.

Currently we are taking a dance class. If our class parent wasn't kind enough to lend us his Ipod dock, we would have had to play through an Iphone. This boombox will last a long time and will positively effect children for years into the future.
