This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love learning and creating. These instruments will allow them to learn and create music of their own. With our music teacher, they will learn to play the recorders on a weekly basis. As a class, we will learn how to play the boomwhackers and, in the process, practice collaboration and synchronizing.

Learning with instruments will also make an impact on their knowledge of math and fractions.

Listening to music, they will be able to make connections with whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and eighth notes. Having these instruments will provide my students a fun and engaging way to practice math and fall in love with making music.

My goal for this project is for my students to learn to play songs so they can perform for an audience of their parents or at a school assembly.
