My Students

Music makes learning fun. Music makes you move. Music makes you express your feelings. Music is what makes kindergarten unforgettable.

My kindergarten class starts at 8 AM.

and we start everyday with music and dance for at least 20 minutes. With music, we sing the sounds of the letters, we clap and move to the beat,and we learn to count. My English learners can sing the days of the week, but when you ask them to say it, they have a hard time. Music is a vital part of learning in my class. Knowing that we always start the day with songs, parents like to sit in for few minutes to see their child sing and dance. Students are engaged right away as they walk in the door-even if they're late. Singing is part of our curriculum and it's part of our kindergarten life.

My Project

With your donation, we would like to add aerobics and movements into our morning activity. Dancing to the familiar songs and an updated music, children will warm up with a morning exercise and be excited to start the day. We will exercise our upper body by using the wrist ribbons and rhythm sticks for high and low spacial movements. Students will learn to dance with partners and work in a group. I want to teach the students that exercising is fun and it's good for your body too.

When students are excited about the music, you know you have their full attention.

When you have their full attention then the opportunity for learning to take place is an open door. For many struggling students learning to count, spell, and rhyme, is a complicated skill, but if we sing to it, it will be an awesome way to learn.
