Music: A Language for the Mind, Body, and Soul

My students need song flutes to enrich their learning in the Arts. Also instrumental play books. Often times, the Arts are overlooked. Let's help students develop their appreciation for music early.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." --Plato Music is another means of expression. Like language, it brings people together. I want my kids to be fluent in music, too!

My students thirst for knowledge!

They hunger to know what the world has to offer them. They understand that they are working to become an entity in the future that helps to shape a better tomorrow. They know that they must not form a part of the problem but form a part of the solution. What they do not realize is that they are still young. It will be years before we can see the fruition of their efforts. They are people; they are kids. As such, they should be exposed to as much of what the world has to offer to know how to best contribute to the future. Where academics can seem overwhelming, music will offer my students relief. Music will transport them into another world--a world of infinite possibilities. Music will strengthen them to connect with others in another language, a universal language that breaks through any spoken language. Music will ignite their imagination to ideas not yet foreseen. Music will uplift their morale and bring hope where it seemed hopeless.

My Project

I plan on introducing my students to their first musical instrument--the song flute. I hope to teach them to read and play music. But I also aspire that they create their own music through the knowledge they'll gain from the lessons. I wish to bestow upon the students another means of expressing their thoughts and emotions.

The song flutes and music books will give my students access to another world--music.

It's important that children learn to appreciate music at an early age. Why not grant my students an opportunity to grow in the Arts, too!
