This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love anything that has to do with music whether it be singing, dancing, clapping, and even humming. I teach in a dual language program and teaching in Spanish can sometimes be a challenge for my non Spanish speakers. However, music is a way that I get ALL students in engaged regardless of the language. I wish that I had more instruments for them to use when singing or dancing to songs. I have ideas for activities that involve music and movement. Music and movement is very important for learning in preschool and what better way than including instruments! During work time many of them also like the music area but often fight over the instruments because we do not have enough for everyone. All we have are a set of drums but not even enough sticks. Please help me give my students musical instruments that will enhance their preschool experiences and allow them to express how they feel through music. Music is a talent that many have but are not usually able to express in school because we tend to focus on academics.
