My Project

Mural Cloth, drop cloths and brushes will allow our Arts students create work that the whole school can see and enjoy. Art students in Studio Art 2 and Ceramics will collaborate on a series of smaller murals that all connect visually and thematically, that will line a hallway. Students will create portraits and culturally significant floral designs on Mural Cloth, and those will be collaged onto wooden panels along with clay tiles of flags from around the world and objects that are symbolic of students' identities. Mural Cloth in particular allows for all students to be involved in the project because it can be easily manipulated and used in the classroom during the regular school day. This means that even students who have other responsibilities after school can be included in this collaborative project.

Students will learn about public art, art installation, collaborative art making and creating artwork around a common theme for a bigger purpose.

This project will beautify the walls and bring attention to the amazing talents that our students have in the arts.

Students at our school bring so many varied identities and experiences into the classroom. Our goal is to celebrate that diversity through beautiful artwork in a public space, and honor our students' individuality and commonality through art.
