Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are curious about the world around them and are eager to learn. They have spunky personalities and are bursting with energy.
Many of them are being raised in single parent households, are English language learners, and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
However, these obstacles will not hold my students back from all they want to accomplish and learn during the school year. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, they are focused on reaching their academic goals.
My Project
My students need spices, gauze, and gloves to mummify chickens as part of our Ancient Egypt Social Studies curriculum. We will embalm the chicken with salt and other spices. We will then store the chicken mummies, and when the mummification process has completed, will wrap them with gauze.
Your donation to this project allows my students to learn the mummification process and have a deeper understanding of ancient Egyptians' religious rituals.
This project gets students excited about school and invested in the learning process. It also helps them understand religious practices of the ancient societies that we study in class.
