Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn in many different ways and not all students are able to make adequate progress without a variety of strategies, repetition and multiple opportunities to practice skills. It is extremely difficult and frustrating for some students even though we know with support and strategies they can succeed!

All students benefit from multisensory teaching and learning strategies and they love to use sand and other tools to support their literacy development.

In addition, access to learning with technology using an Osmo learning platform, headphones, and a variety of games helps to keep learning engaging.

Because learning to read can be challenging, many of my students require breaks and multiple opportunities to learn new material in different ways. Fidgets, magnetic tiles, and other materials provide my students a way to help them take a short break and self-regulate in order to be ready to learn again. Providing tools to support students with emotional regulation during frustrating situations benefits the classroom environment and supports the progress of all students!
