My students need Multiplication Slam and Zoom to increase their basic fact fluency while having fun so they are able to delve deeper into abstract math thinking with confidence.
As students enter my classroom, I want them to feel that they are in a fun, safe place to learn and to be able to make mistakes while still feeling good about themselves. My fourth graders are a diverse group of students. I have several special education students, as well as general education students, some are working below grade, some are working on grade level and some are above grade level learners. No matter what level they are , they should all feel confident and excited every day.
My students need an engaging, yet fun and exciting way to master their multiplication facts to create accuracy and automaticity which Multiplication Slam and Zoom will provide.
I would like to see their math stamina and fact fluency blossom this year. I am constantly trying to come up with new ways to keep all my students engaged while creating an atmosphere that fosters cooperation and excitement. My Project
Learning how to multiply multi-digit numbers and divide by greater numbers is so much more intimidating if students don't have their basic facts "under their belt." If they can become proficient with multiplication facts, then the next few years of math will be opened up for them leading to confident "math-minded" students ready to take on higher levels of critical thinking math skills.
Everyone can "do" math with the right mindset and fact fluency that Multiplication Slam and Zoom will help to develop in my students.
Multiplication Slam reinforces multiplication facts from 1 to 9. It helps improve speed with basic facts. the faster a student responds, the better their score. The missed problems are then recycled increasing practice with an individuals specific weaknesses. It has fun sound effects and keeps kids slammin' and jammin' their multiplication facts. Zoom builds multiplication skills while reinforcing addition and probability strategies in a fun fast paced game.
