Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help multilingual learners further develop their literacy skills in their first language and in English. Students feel joy, connection, belonging, and engagement when they can borrow their favorite books in their home languages. They love reading with their parents and keep learning in their native languages. These books also allow students who are literate in their native language and starting to learn English to keep reading grade level books in a language they know while working on learning English. By reading their favorite stories in both languages, students will make connections and develop their literacy skills and academic thinking in both languages.
