Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Books are a door into other worlds and for our students, this includes a new other language.

Many of our students are recently arrived immigrants and are seeking for opportunities to better their literacy in English.

The already packed school day would be complimented by a student led book club outside of their day. Our students are special: they use their lunch time to work on homework and many leave school to go to their jobs. Adding snacks would help them decompress from their school day while also engaging in literacy.

We're asking for some healthy snacks to give our book club the authentic feeling of coziness, warmth and a safe space to practice their English. You supply the snacks, I'll supply the books and we'll all have the memories.
