This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my students get the supplies they need for their multicultural portrait paintings! My lower grade students are amazing, bright, and colorful Art Stars. They come from a range of different cultures and backgrounds with important stories to tell. I would love for them to have access to a wide range of tempera cake colors for their portraits and other painting projects down the line. They'll love being able to represent themselves accurately with appropriately colored tempera cakes. Making these paintings will help them tell their personal stories and feel seen and heard. Founding these supplies will also give them access to materials they haven't had the opportunity to work with yet. I know they will greatly appreciate the new experiences!
