My Students

Ever wanted to know more about the cultures around you? My students need a way to discover many cultures through literature.

My students are some of the brightest in NC!

The school has been an Honor School of Excellence for 4 straight years! The population of the school is only about 30% minorities. In order for the students to really experience the cultures of students who sit in class with them daily, I want to start a Multicultural Literature class. In this class, the students can travel the world in books, plays, and stories; they can see the cultures of their classmates and friends.

My Project

In order to help students to see the "politically correct" history of America and how other cultures really were involved, they need these books. The students will gain background knowledge for the rest of the literature in the new Multicultural Literature class. I am requesting 25 copies (a class set) of "Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong" by James Loewen. This book is one of the staples to teaching about cultures in America.

This project will assist in setting up a Multicultural Literature class at my school.

Students in the class will be able to learn and experience many cultures from around the world through stories, plays, poetry, and their own self-expressive writing. This project will give the students the basis for the history of America by including many other cultures in that "correct" history.
