My Project

In the last several months our community has expanded to children who come from many different cultural and homes. For this reason I would like to expand my classroom library to include the cultural background of my students. I am in need of books that are translated in Spanish, Russian, Armenian, and Bengali. These books will help my students feel seen and supported. They will also feel welcome to our school and classroom. It will also help me connect with their families so that they feel safe and comfortable.

My students love books and enjoy reading.

Some of my students at the age of 3 are reading full sentence. Encouraging them to see and read books written in their own language will help develop their communicate, literacy development, and sense of community. I am excited to have these new stories represented in my classroom library.
