Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is full of energetic, dual language, students who enjoy learning in two languages.

They live in a high poverty area in the Bronx. My students receive instruction in both English and Spanish on a daily basis.

Many of my students don't have the opportunity to read or write online.

My students are bilingual learners who love to read and share their learning. Many depend on an iPad or computer to read books or write digitally which often doesn't work due to lack of internet service at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school teaching remotely or blended, they are eager learner.

My Project

Having a customized library with grade-appropriate multicultural books will meet the needs of my students to become competent, successful readers. Reading daily will help my students improve their reading skills.

Multicultural Read-Aloud, Biographies and stories will challenge my students to read with enthusiastic longer chapter and more complex plots books.

My students need books that will provide them with the opportunity to read multicultural books at their level of reading. Having these multicultural reading books in the classroom will help my students become stronger readers and their love of reading will increased.
