Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Bright, Brilliant and Bilingual!!! These students come from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, but come together around education and bilingualism.

These young minds love playing and writing about it as well as reading books where they can see themselves reflected in the stories.

They are global children- love learning about the world and our shared cultural practices. We travel via books, pictures and writing stories. Many of our students are recent immigrants who are in love with their new school.

My Project

By donating to our project you will help emerging readers develop a love for books. We are a Reading Workshop school and students need plenty of books for devouring. We are limited in beautiful, meaningful and culturally relevant books. The books I have selected I have done so with my students interests at heart. Good books make for great writing. Out young students are learning how to do both - this is an exciting project to fund- because you will be part of their initial love for literacy!!!

Many of our students come from homes with limited resources including books.

This is an opportunity to be part of a child's life long love of learning. I will use this books during small group instruction as well as during their independent reading and book shopping time.
