This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We need multicultural and multilingual books for our new library at Boston International! As a librarian, I know how important it is for students to be able to see themselves (mirrors) in the books they read and that it's equally important for them to learn more about others (windows). The books on this list will provide both windows and mirrors to the immigrant students at my high school.

To get the whole school reading, we want to launch a Cultural Club Read-a-thon and we need your help.

Each club will choose a book to read and discuss and then try to get other kids to read the book as well. There will be prizes for the students who read the most and for the clubs who get the most kids to read their book.
