This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In September my students began a whole new experience at school. I want to make it as fun and as safe as possible. I also want them to have the materials they need for both in school and remote learning at home. My new kindergarten students will be eager to learn in our new normal. My students are in a Title I high-needs area with 100% free lunch and breakfast. Many students are ELLs.
My Project
Throughout this pandemic, students have experienced tremendous disruption. I would like to give them a way to express their feelings through paint, art and play dough. The Lego kits will help them to communicate their emotions through play and creating a character that matches their feelings. Through play, children feel calm and will share their thoughts. This will also give them an outlet for their feelings. Children learn best and enjoy learning the most when creativity and play are involved. So let's give them something to be excited about in school!
