My Students

We are a class of hard workers and big dreamers, but there are TWENTY-SEVEN of us! Meaning, we have a great need for resources to ensure we are ready for first grade.

Our class is dedicated to learning and are all very eager learners.

They are enthusiastic about everything they do, and all of them are so motivated to work hard every day to get to first grade, and eventually college. Everyday is filled with exclamations of "Hey, I can read that!" or "I KNOW that answer!" and other similar statements about what we are learning. Many of these students receive very little support outside of school, but they are nonetheless excited for their educational futures.

My Project

We are requesting phonic games, word building puzzles, sight word games, addition puzzles, pattern games, leveled early reader books, shape sorting puzzles, rhyming books, ending sounds games, beginning sounds games, paper, white board markers, a pencil sharpener, and classroom organizers for student use. With these resources we will be able to have ability leveled reading groups to aid in early literacy skills. We will be able to have basic necessities for our classroom like glue, a pencil sharpener, and lined writing paper. We will be able to incorporate science and social studies into our everyday activities through games and center stations. We will be able to have group centers to accommodate all 27 students being actively engaged in learning, all at one time with the literacy games and puzzles requested, especially since they are targeted towards differentiated instruction!

These students may be high poverty, but they are entitled to a high quality education despite the lack of resources present at our school.

I want to ensure that each and every one of them has the kindergarten experience they deserve, to put them on the path to becoming lifelong learners!
