My Students

"Can we print this picture?!" "Can I print my essay out and show my mom?!" "Can I have a copy of the powerpoint?!" These are all questions that I hear on a daily basis. My students LOVE to work on the computer and they love to show off the amazing work that they create, however, our school is under-equipped with printing resources. The 8th grade students that I work with are working on English essays for their SOL test that is always looming and my 6th grade students want to take home the projects that they make at school to show them off.

All of my students are capable of completing all assignments given to them and they want to be 100% able to print them out regardless of their low socio-economic background.

Remember when we were in school and we took home that half sheet of ruled paper with the illustration on top? Well our kids now want to take home a copy of that power point they made and show it to their parents.

My Project

Student work is one of the most important decorations in the classroom and should always be shown off. With the emphasis on 21st century skills and technology know-how, my students often struggle to be able to show off the things that they have created. With a color printer, they will be able to not only present their information but also be able to print it out and show it off! Many students in my classroom struggle with having computers and printers at home and with many of the local libraries under construction, they are down to just the school being a place where they can complete projects. If they are given an opportunity to have a printer in the classroom, then they can create until their heart is content!
