Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders have changed my life in so many ways. My students are committed to their education and have a passion and drive for learning.

Most of my students speak English as a second language, and succeed every day despite the challenges this school system has placed on them.

This year, they will learn to write essays, multiply and divide, and so much more. At my school, it isn't just the teachers and administration that are committed to seeing my students succeed. Despite what they can afford financially, my students, their families and their community is passion about education and it shows in my class.

I have seen my students this past year go from not speaking a single word of English to writing complete, English sentences. I have seen students struggle with the basics of number sense see tremendous growth on their tests throughout the years. I have seen students put their heart and soul into projects about the environment, our government, and their community.

My students show up every day to better themselves and build the steps toward their future. I want to ensure that they have everything and more to help them during that process.

My Project

Your generous donations will ensure that every one of my students has what they need to succeed in the 3rd grade. Every year at my school, a list of supplies goes out to every student and their family of what they'll need to bring to class that year. Unfortunately, many of my students cannot afford to purchase everything on that list.

With your help, I can ensure that every single one of my students will have the necessary materials to succeed this school year.

Individual supplies like composition books and loose leaf paper will give them spaces to work for the entire year.

Classroom supplies like glue sticks and colored pencils will allow me to introduce creativity into my lessons and ignite a passion for learning in new ways.

Specific tools like Base 10 cubes and writing prompts will allow my students to expand ideas included in the curriculum and practice using a variety of platforms.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, will mean the world to my classroom and my school.
