This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Art should be hands on! So many children learn building art with newspaper. It has always been a successful project across many grades. The children learn about form working with newsprint and tape. They enjoy constructing their sculptures. Then they learn new materials while making the forms strong with Mod Podge and tissue paper. I have uninterested middle schoolers bringing in paper towel rolls and telling me they are going home to drink more water to use the empty bottles in their art! Please help us fill in the blanks with these materials!
