My Students

"We don't want easy, we make easy happen through hard work and learning." This words are displayed in my classroom because we embrace the struggles, help each other along the way, and celebrate every success.

My students possess an unwavering sense of determination.

They are inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions. In our school, we foster this thirst for knowledge by helping students set ambitious goals and challenging them to grow through engaging with rigorous academic material.

My Project

In order to be truly successful, students must find a love for learning within themselves. This project will stock our classroom library with a variety of books that will help students foster a love of learning. The texts I chose range from historical fiction to biographies to folktales. Many books teach life lessons through themes, such as determination and courage. Every book in this project has the potential to expose a different part of the world and history to my students. We will use these books during novel studies and also during independent reading time, when students have the opportunity to choose books that interest them and challenge them on their reading level.

These texts will open expose my students to the world, and show them a book's ability to transport you elsewhere.

Each student will hopefully find "that book" in which they fall in love with, and in turn, develop a life long love of learning.
