My Project

Stress has been shown to have serious health consequences ranging from reduced immunity to increased risk of heart disease. Being surrounded by people who are caring and supportive helps people to see themselves as better capable of dealing with the stresses that life brings. With the everyday stressors facing students in their home environments, I would like to create a safe place within the classroom. My students have been drawn to my class on a daily basis because I am their emotional support teacher. I was able to get a couch but other then that, the environment is lacking in comfort.

I want the students to have a "Comfort Zone." You can help kids move from a negative state where they're feeling upset or distressed to a more positive one – where they feel safe, calm and ready to interact with their world in a positive way.
