This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an elementary school speech-language pathologist, I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can thrive in their communication and social-emotional development. With your generous support, I plan to incorporate tools like wiggle stools, Crayola markers, toys that teach emotions, visual timers, and voice-output recordable buttons into my therapy sessions. Wiggle stools will help students who need sensory input to stay focused, while Crayola markers will encourage creativity and self-expression during language-building activities. Emotion-teaching toys will help children identify and regulate their feelings, fostering emotional intelligence and empathy. Visual timers will provide structure and reduce anxiety, making sessions more predictable and calming. Voice-output recordable buttons will give nonverbal or minimally verbal students a way to actively participate in communication tasks, ensuring that every voice is heard. Your contribution will directly enhance these efforts, empowering students to develop essential communication skills and supporting their mental health and social-emotional well-being.
