Help me give my students a strong love of science. I am building a STEM based station for students who finish work early. I also hope to foster critical thinking/ problem solving skills for students of all backgrounds!
I have always had a deep love of science that I strive to pass on to my students. Even though I teach middle schoolers, these kids still love to learn through exploration and fun challenges. I am in the process of building a class collection of fun and engaging STEM based games and challenges to do just that! I have built up a small library of books on different science related topics but am severely lacking in hands-on challenges.
Every thing in this list has been selected to challenge and develop students' critical thinking and problem solving skills, and some of these items even strive to help them become better team players.
But my ultimate goal is to foster a passion for science that will carry on throughout students lives. These materials will be used everyday as students finish their assigned work, and as brain breaks for students who need a stress release. These materials will be available to all students no matter their reputations and will give each child equal opportunity to explore their passions.
