Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items requested will help my students thrive and learn the social emotional skills they need. Many students missed out on developing crucial SEL skills during the COVID-19 pandemic and are still lagging behind. Students need support in talking and working with others (the social skills resources will support with this). Students also have heightened emotions and difficulty coping with strong emotions. Resources geared toward calming and coping will help my students thrive in and out of school. Additionally (and unfortunately), some of my students lost parents and other close adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Books such as the trauma book and book about the boy who lost his father will be a huge support to my students.
