Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Bronx public school where community is an essential aspect of our educational environment. The students collaborate with each other and are encouraged to always think critically, discuss respectfully, and grow as learners and people.

My students are taught Social/Emotional Learning and to have a Growth Mindset attitude from when they begin Pre-K.

Third grade is a crucial year as my students will begin preparing for standardized tests, in a collaborative, yet individualized manner. As their teacher, it is my job to make learning fun and be their biggest advocate.

My students read on various levels and desire different manipulatives and supports to guide them in learning. An organized classroom that is functional and intriguing keeps my students eager to learn and on task.

My Project

As a new teacher, an easel is an essential classroom piece. The Flex-Space Double-Sided Mobile Teaching Easel is a supportive tool to allow me to move throughout my classroom and teach various subjects. I will be able to use this easel in centers, in small groups, and for one-on-one instruction. By turning the easel around, I can give a literacy lesson and transition into a math lesson without having to erase anything written. The best part of this easel is the storage space to hold papers, markers, bins, and more!

Not only do I want my students to participate in lessons, but I want my students to be independent and navigate the classroom library eagerly!

My students must always feel safe and comfortable. In my classroom library, I envision comfort. Once my students choose a book on their reading level or based on their own interests, they would appreciate a comfortable place to sit and read. The Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seat would be provide by students with a rewarding place to sit and focus on their books.
