Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After walking into teaching for the first time ever last year, I was able to gain significant experience in becoming an impactful teacher. I have consistently pushed myself to the best of my ability to make my classroom feel like a safe place for my students. I take pride in being someone who is willing to provide the best for my students, no matter the circumstances. I found many things that pique the interest of my students.

The generation of today is fueled by an abundance of things; book series, meme stickers, snacks, and candy.

Reading has become something my students have a hard time doing in my classroom, due to my VERY limited classroom library. These students need books that they're fascinated by and will want to read until they are done with the entire book. With this wishlist, I am eager to receive the books listed to help increase my classroom library. With a good book, quite an appetite is bound to make an appearance. The snacks on my wishlist will definitely make some 5th graders happy.

A good snack pairs well with preferential seating. Kids are always looking for any excuse to sit anywhere other than their assigned seat. I have added two types of preferential seating to my list that will allow my students to sit anywhere in my classroom while they get their work done. I am very fond of the idea that students who get their work done should be treated with comfortable seating.

Lastly, I have added several board games to include in my classroom. Living in Arizona, we are often on a heat advisory, which means a teacher's worst nightmare - indoor recess. I am excited to see how much happiness and conversation will come from the listed games.
