My Project

I work with 50+ special education students who have IEPs (Individual Education Plan). These students have been classified with disabilities ranging from Emotionally Disturbed to Intellectually Disabled. Through both individual and group counseling, I support and empower students to navigate various topics including managing emotions, dealing with conflict, practicing appropriate social skills, adapting healthy coping skills, building motivation around academic progress as well as understanding mental health. Working in a public school can be challenging as funding is limited. I am only given $110 a year for supplies, games and furniture. I am hoping to continue to be the safe space my students need and want. Your donation will go to counseling games and supplies as well as a carpet and furniture to help create a safe and happy counseling space.
