Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher, baseball coach and community leader, I absolutely love my students. What makes them special is their eagerness to learn and their strong desire to succeed. They come from diverse backgrounds and many of them are international students who are new to the United States, specifically from the Dominican Republic.

Despite facing challenges such as adjusting to a new culture and language, my students have a positive attitude and are determined to overcome any obstacle that comes their way.

They are also a tight-knit community, who have created a family-like environment within the team. This has helped them to build strong relationships with one another and to support one another through the ups and downs of the season.

The materials that I am requesting will make a difference in my students' learning by providing them with the tools and resources they need to excel on the field and in the classroom. These gloves, balls, net and snacks will help to improve their skills, knowledge and understanding of the game of baseball. Additionally, the materials will provide them with the opportunity to learn in a safe and comfortable environment.

It is my goal as a coach to give my students the best opportunity to succeed in the Bronx neighborhood and in their life currently and after they graduate. With the help of these materials, I am confident that my students will be able to reach their full potential and become successful in whatever path they choose to take in life. I would like to thank the prospective donors for their support and for investing in the future of these amazing young individuals.
