My Students

I am a brand new teacher at a Title 1 school in Springfield, Missouri, and will be starting in August! I will be teaching 5th grade. I don’t know my students yet but I will be thrilled to meet them! I am astonished that my teaching career has finally arrived and I want to be able to provide my students with the best! I’m excited to start this new adventure!

My Project

Alternative seating will improve my students' classroom engagement by helping to bring comfort and a feeling of being at home in the classroom. I want to give the students multiple seating options and allowing them to make a choice of where they prefer to sit while learning.

The personal book boxes will be an ideal way for students to have something they call their own in my classroom.

These book boxes will allow students to store their books of choice from our classroom library to store in their bin. This will allow their books to be organized and allow them to travel with the book box to their desired reading spot in the classroom. Both of these items will allow our classroom environments to be a fun and comfortable learning space!
