Mrs. Slater's 3-D Printer to Combat Food Insecurity

Help me give my students a 3-D printer to print our K cup coffee extractors, expresso extractors, and worm traps for our composting project to help prevent food insecurity in our community.

My Project

My 3rd-grade students have done an amazing job researching, and analyzing data from our soil report, and determining that the soil at our school does not have the nutrients needed to plant crops to aid in preventing food insecurity in our community. After research, the students determined that they wanted to compost used coffee grounds. After using tinkercad to design coffee and expresso extractors, we needed a 3-D printer to test our designs.

In addition, we have studied vermicomposting, and the students are interested in designing a worm trap for the future.

Please consider donating to my classroom so that 3rd grade can assist in the school's goal of preventing food insecurity.
