My Project

The products chosen for this program will enable my students the opportunity to have hands-on math experiences at home. Each backpack will correlate with specific math standards covered in our 4th and 5th grade curriculum. Some standards included will be multiplication, division, place value, fractions, graphing, measurement and data, and geometry. My goal is to incorporate a story related to the skill, a hands-on game, review cards or activities, and real-world example problems. Students will be able to take turns signing out backpacks to take home and review relevant math skills to help support retention and confidence. This program will also give families the opportunity to see what we are learning in class, give them the ability to assist their students at home, and the power to play a pertinent role in the education of our children.
