Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Project

I teach in a Title I school, so most of my students live below the poverty level.

Many of my students are English Language Learners and have special learning needs. Our budget is already stretched thin, just covering basic materials. It is difficult to purchase expensive manipulatives that can be used for STEM themed projects.

STEM education is extremely important for students living in poverty, so that they develop skills that will help them to be successful in the future.

Schools that give students access to STEM activities and projects are helping to provide a way out of poverty. By providing STEM education to elementary school students living in poverty, schools offer a way for students to get ahead in higher education. STEM education makes it possible for students to access higher education, opening them up to a world of higher-paying jobs and improving their odds of succeeding in any profession.
