Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have been a teacher for 20 years now but for the last 7 years I have been out of classroom teaching Learning Support and has not had my own classroom. This is the 1st year I will have my own classroom again for a k-2 ES classroom and I want to make sure they have a quiet area to read with flexible seating. Help me give my students flexible seating and library storage by displaying books and a table to enjoy reading in a quiet area reading independently or at the listening center.

My students are in k-2 Emotional support and are curious and playful.

They’re always ready to explore something new and love hands-on materials in the classroom. This year, we need a library shelf to display more books for our library. I’m requesting a new pencil holder so the students can fill out reading logs when they come to the flexible seating area to read several different picture books and chapter books for the variety of reading levels in my classroom. My students also need a new area where they can comfortably sit to read these books during their free time and work on their reading skills throughout the year.
