My students need an instrument rack, music books for all instruments, and repair parts for violins/violas. We need these essentials to begin our new orchestra program.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My biggest challenge is that my students want to learn so much and I don't have the means to give them a proper orchestra program. I want my students to be able to play their instrument and be proper musicians. "It takes a village to raise children" is the best quote because I need your help.
My students are the most eager to learn and devoted to their education.
Our school is a Title 1 school in Brooklyn which means its a high poverty level in New York. These students rarely have nice and wonderful things. Many of them act like they don't deserve it because of their demographic. The teachers in this school push to the extreme so that they can get the best education because they deserve it. We devote ourselves to them and their future. The question is " who are they?" They're a group of students that are just looking for a chance to succeed. I gave them just a little lesson on composers and their curiosity exploded. Hands went up and questions were asked just based on the information that George Gershwin was from Brooklyn, just like them. It transformed them knowing that someone like them was given a change and succeeded. Giving not only will help the school, but my students integrity.
My Project
The instrument rack will help protect our instruments so that we can maintain them. We had a flood in the school and some instruments were damaged/destroyed because there is no storage for them other than the floor. The racks will also maintain our orchestra because our school cannot buy any replacement instruments. It will also organize my classroom and instill a proper routine for retrieving/releasing instruments for students.
We have no stands and the previous teacher taught them music by singing the notes to them. I want my students to read music and look like a real orchestra which they deserve.
The orchestra needs music books to learn, perform, and grow musically. Photo copies can only go so for and they usually get destroyed through over use. It helps them practice better and have ownership of their progress. Further along they're in a book is a visually accomplishment for my students.
Lastly, tailpiece wire/adjusters helps maintain our instruments. I can save many instruments
By donating to my orchestra program you will be transforming my classroom to a real orchestra room.
The classroom will have a flow instead of a traffic filled room with students trying to find instruments. Having a really orchestra room will show my students that they deserve nice things and they deserve a chance at being a great musician. It will show the community that their part of a great orchestra program. If all it takes is giving a child a book to turn their life around then donate.
