Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager learners ready to conquer spelling and reading. My students are all very unique and come from very different backgrounds but they all have one thing in common. They LOVE school!! The first week of school they were so excited for 1st grade and to meet their teacher and classmates. I want my students to have the best experience that first grade can offer. Most of my students were virtual last year so this is their first time in our building. As a first year teacher, I am eager to help my students find their passion for learning!

My Project

I would like for my students to have access to various books that will encourage them to love reading. Currently I have two small bins of books for my students to choose from during independent reading. I would love for my students to see a full classroom library filled with books that will capture their interest. Most of my students are early readers level A, my goal is to have all my students reading at a J level by the end of the year. I know once my students have access to books they will love reading just as much as me!
