My Students

This year, I have been incredibly fortunate to get a teaching position in an elementary school in a rural community in Western New York. In my fourth grade classroom, I have a wide-range of learners, with various challenges they face in and out of school.

In my classroom, we have a sign that says "Be Brave, Be Bright, Be Bold." My students embody this expression every day by taking risks, working their hardest, and reflecting on whether they are putting forth their personal best.

However, not only was I lucky enough to get 17 hard working students this year, these kids are NICE. They are kind to each other, to me, and anyone else they have interactions with in our tiny school. I am proud every day of their hard work, determination, and most importantly, character.

My Project

We will use the carpet to sit on during read aloud time. My kiddos LOVE being read to, and sometimes have a hard time getting comfortable on the hand-me-down carpet I found at a yard sale this summer. I would love for them to feel more comfortable, and add some brightness to my classroom.

Our absolute favorite time of day is our read aloud on the carpet!

We are also in major need of an easel! An easel will help to display important charts with information for all of my lessons, and will also be a great tool for kids to practice their work on in math and ELA!
