My Students
Hello! My group of 12 (eventually 17) preschoolers are very inquisitive, independent, and excited learners! I have worked at the preschool since 2009. I just went back in August to my classroom for my third year as lead teacher!
My main goal every year is to provide the best learning experience that I can provide to inspire my students learning in all areas!
I would love to be able to provide my students with a light table. This is one item that is so very versatile and can be used to do activities in all learning areas!
With the importance placed on sanitizing materials currently with COVID concerns, a light table offers another choice versus the sensory center. I have never had a light table in the classroom, and I look forward to all the learning we will have with one!
My Project
The light table can be used with magna tiles or a range of other translucent building blocks/tubes. The children will be able to look at the x-ray images we have. For literacy, my children will be able to use light for tracing leaves, names, letter matching, and storytelling with laminated images. Lastly, they can experiment with sand, nature items, glass stones, and how light goes through water beads. There are so many ways that a light table can be used and enjoyed with everyday items! Thank you for your interest in my project to light up learning!
