My Project

In my 10 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, the environment matters. COVID-19 impacted students independent learning and thinking skills. It also elevated social-emotional disruptions for many students.

A classroom needs to be inviting and above all highlight the thinking of the students so they can feel proud of their accomplishments, especially when learning becomes challenging.

With the floor seats and carpet requested, my students will have even more flexible seat options that allow them to think their best. The new rug areas will support the calming vibe in my room, this helps to keep students regulated and foster a positive learning environment. The rug areas also allow for a space where all students can come together and discuss new, changing and big ideas.
