Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a fourth-grade inclusion class that has both general and special education students. I love my students and teaching fourth grade. I teach reading, writing, math, science and social studies. I especially love teaching reading and writing each year. I love when my students enjoy reading and I love to read everything they write.

In our classroom, we are a family.

We support each other and love to work together. My students work very hard and are excited when they reach a goal.

My Project

The materials I have selected help to organize and support my students. They will also support my special education students that may have difficulty with frustration, anxiety, and focus. There are times when students may need a break to cool down rather than acting out. I want to provide an area of the classroom where they can go and take a break and calm down with the help of some manipulatives if needed. Many of my students are below level in reading and have a learning disability. They feel self-conscious and do not enjoy reading and writing. I want them to feel comfortable to take risks in my classroom.

I want to build a safe, comfortable environment for my students to learn daily!

I want my students to enjoy reading and writing and feel comfortable around the classroom doing their work in different seating.
