This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kiddos are exceptional students who are curious about the world around them. My students love to change up the pace during the day and they enjoy getting really creative with new things. Many of my students face challenges in their personal lives, but still come to school daily ready to learn and do their very best.

Being 5 years old and starting school comes with many challenges, especially during this uncertain time.

I want to be able to prepare my students for school whether we come back in person or virtually. For a kindergartener this is already a very scary time and on top of everything else going on in the world right now, it is so important I can provide my students with the resources and tools they will need to thrive as new learners.

I have been a teacher for 5 years now and have loved every second of it. Unfortunately, many of the things I have been using have been gifted hand me downs from when I first started and are starting to get torn or broken from the years of use. I am hoping to replace these items for my students this year!

My Project

Having these tools in the classroom will help my students get comfortable in their setting for long periods of time. Flexible seating has become so important in education and especially in kindergarten when kids needs change so frequently.

The books I chose embody real life leaders who look just like my students, allowing them to believe in themselves and begin to achieve their goals at a young age.

Having these books will give my students ambition and driev as they use their other resources to learn. Not only will we use these books as great reading tools, but I will provide lessons centered around diversity to support my students backgrounds inside the classroom. The other tools will help ensure they can see the posters for their work, as well as get the work done by writing and coloring to display in class. The hanging tools allow for our anchor charts from each lesson to be displayed on the walls for students to reference as they work independently and meet their learning goals. With all of your help, my students will be successful learners.
