Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When entering my fourth-grade classroom, you can hear a buzz of excitement and the quiet chatter of eager nine year olds ready to learn. My students come to school every day ready to learn and ready to tackle the day ahead of them. Each day, it is our goal to work hard and to learn from one another.

My school is a place where children are encouraged to be themselves while learning to value their education.

Students are encouraged to question the world around them and encouraged to think outside the box. In my school, in my classroom, students are pushed to try their hardest while being able to grow and develop based on their needs. My students work hard each and every single day to combat any personal struggles that they may be facing. My fourth graders strive for their personal best whether they are working on math problems, trying to progress to the next reading level, or becoming authors during writing workshop. My students try their very best and deserve the very best education has to offer. I believe in my students and most importantly they believe in themselves.

My Project

I have requested some learning materials for my fourth graders. I have requested a pencil sharpener. The sharpener will help students prepare their learning materials for the day. Pencils are constantly breaking and a sharpener will go a long way! I have also requested binder dividers. My students are workers! Dividers will help students keep their work organized and easily accessible. Lastly, I am requesting laminating pouches. I am able to preserve student work for future use using laminating pouches.

Working in a low-income neighborhood comes with obstacles.

My job as their teacher is not only to teach them but to make sure they are receiving the best education possible. Providing my students with these learning materials will help improve their educational experience within my classroom. My students love walking into their classroom each day and would appreciate any donation.
